DeWanda Smith-Soeder brings over twenty years of corporate business expertise to the organization. She stepped out of the corporate environment to support, individuals, groups and organizations in building what she calls bridges that link people, learning and performance. It is her varied career path and lifes experiences that inspired her to study diversity management first as a subject then a focus area of the practice. It was her career development process that emerged as the catalyst for diversity work.
As a scholar practitioner DeWanda has built bridges throughout her personal life and work. She is an entertaining speaker and facilitator, talents honed through a lifelong love of theatrical performance. She works with an engaging style to support the client in the implementation of inclusive solutions that result in individual and organizational performance improvement. As an organizational development and training specialist, her areas of expertise includes executive coaching, leadership development, single-identity group development, cross-cultural competency development, emotional intelligence and diversity competency, and large-scale organizational change initiatives. Her Innovative Diversity Forum utilizes a theatrical dramatization process as the framework for her keynote addresses, and to facilitate the practical application of diversity competencies and skills, manage conflict and find resolution, as a cross cultural techniques manipulative, and manage sexually harassing behaviors.
DeWanda has consulted with leaders of fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions and governmental agencies in the US and abroad. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Human Services from Ohio University and a Masters of Arts Degree in Psychology with a specialization in Diversity Psychology from Cleveland State University. Her professional affiliations include certification from DDI, NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science and the American Society of Training and Development.
